where was i?
it‘s a full screen. it‘s a white space. schubert was allegedly and anecdotally inspired to greatness by a blank sheet of paper. what more than emptiness to inspire greatness? to inspire something. a blank wall motivates and fills with the energies of a mind more than a great painting by a master. greatness is a luxury, not a prompt. a luxury and a privilege. but not inspiration. no. greatness is humiliating, not motivating. i need some inspiration. beethoven is not the tonic for this, but mediocrity. and inspiration is not an on-demand substance to begin with. no spigots belch the stuff. i am spinning wheelies in my mind. the rear tire blasts out of control like a red meat erection. the red meat erection. the costco erection. the prime rib erection wakes me up some nights. women point and giggle at me walking around with an erection. why? do men point and laugh at women walking around pregnant? or are erections simply ridiculous? needlessnesses?
