ASCII Márquez

The cover of the June 7, 2009, New York Times Book Review showed an old-school ASCII-art image of Gabriel García Márquez. Old school in this case means that the image appears to have been created with a typewriter and not the more forgiving digital format. It may just be a font face generated all digitally but even if it is I like the spray of text letters that create Márquez’s face. I pointed my Maglite flashlight at it, and this may have looked more interesting in reality than in these pictures, but hey, yeah, um … free Tibet!
